semester summary, Tilda's first months

Tilda is at this stage, wearing cloth diapers at least half of the time.  My wife has made several home-made fitted diapers (and they've proven to be pooplsosion [i think i got this word from a reader?...not my invented word, so thanks] worthy), and we're using some all-in-ones.  Tilda is fine with the transition.  Her parents are coming to the end of the semester of her birth.  What have we accomplished?  We successfully have raised a little lady through her first three months of life.  She smiles, she reaches and grabs things, she says things that sound vaguely like the thing you're hoping she says, she nearly sits up, she certainly holds herself up on her forearms, she got vaccinations, she has at least doubled in weight, her mother successfully breastfeeds, we've transitioned to cloth diapers, we learnt how to put a carseat in the car, and our hearts expanded three-fold for her.  Academically, we're both working on the same papers we were working on at the beginning of the semester.  This is not unusual or a poor showing.  We take her to the university each week day and work with her there near us (closer to her mom).  She runs samples.  Given the flexibility of our schedules, you have to wonder, maybe graduate-school is the best time to have a baby.  I think Tilda has been very fortunate to have her parents around her everyday for what they all say is a critical period in child development.
