NOAA bans fishing in Gulf, oil creep, and satellite images

The US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has banned fishing in the Gulf of Mexico near the BP oil well.  I keep thinking of it and referring to is as a slick or spill (and the media is doing the same thing).  But, I saw something recently that reminded me that this is not a spill or leak or an incident or event.  It still ongoing.  The well is uncapped and continues to pour oil into the bottom of the Gulf.  But, anyway, NOAA says there 'are finfish, crabs, oysters, and shrimp in the Gulf of Mexico near the area of the oil spill' (look, even NOAA refers to it as a spill).  The president is referring to it now as a 'potentially unprecedented environmental disaster'.  That suggests it may in the end be bigger and worse than.......fill in the blank................  Yet, still not much talk of the 11 crew-peoples that died in the explosion.

Here is a recent NASA release on the situation (http://www.nasa.gov/topics/earth/features/oil-creep.html), with satellite photos.  I like that the http address calls it oil-creep, sounds more appropriate than spill.
