glacial retreat at Glacier National Park, BP
BP did and is currently releasing oil into the Gulf of Mexico. Meanwhile, the glaciers of Glacier National Park are retreating at rates that are measureable over our lifetimes. Here are some NASA satellite images demonstrating very straightforwardly the retreat of glaciers in response to global warming (http://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/IOTD/view.php?id=43942&src=imgrss). BP has a hand in this as well. Don't they? Obviously we all do, but let us at least acknowledge the retreat of the glaciers. My Tilda may live in a glacial free world. Of course, there will still be ice-sheets, but alpine glaciers (http://www.realclimate.org/index.php/archives/2005/03/worldwide-glacier-retreat/)... Maybe their meltwaters will help dilute the (incorrectly estimated but still) voluminous amount of oil in the Gulf of Mexico? Not a solution.
