Tilda has recently been skipping her 2am-ish feeding/diaper change. I'm conflicted. I sort of miss the craziness of getting up every two hours and changing her diaper, and then my wife would breast feed her. Then, there's also part of me that believes its just been a week of skipping the 2am and she'll resume with it next week, so I'm trying to not let myself believe the 2am is over. But, we didn't have to set alarm clocks either since she arrived. She was getting up so regularly every couple hours that there was no chance of oversleeping, but now our little alarm clock has changed her schedule and it has really messed us up. I think I feel more tired these days.
So, Tilda's grandmother had told Tilda's mom to squirt the breast-milk into her eyes, to help clear up the goobers that Tilda gets in her eyes. Then, my wife came back from a mid-wife appointment, where she was again told to squirt the breast-milk into the eyes. So we're talking about how I occasionally have trouble feeding a bottle, of breast-milk, to our breast-fed baby and this squirting the milk into her eyes comes up, so I say, 'oh what, to distract her from the bottle coming at her', as if to distract all of her olfactory senses and then swoosh in with a bottle, she'll be drinking from that bottle in no time. Not so, the squirting of breast-milk is to introduce the anti-bodies and improve the health of the eye, reducing goop along the way. Feeding a breast-fed baby a bottle is just another, and this, dads doodoo.
