NASA oil image, Lake Pontchatrain, and Mexico

Here is a link to a new NASA satellite image (http://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/NaturalHazards/view.php?id=44527) of the Gulf oil disaster.  It appears to be approaching New Orleans pretty directly.  I was reading that the oil is now in Lake Pontchatrain (http://www.nola.com/news/gulf-oil-spill/index.ssf/2010/07/crews_work_to_clean_up_tar_bal.html).  Tar balls are also in Texas for a BP oil pentafecta of the Gulf states.  By the way....what about the other side of the Gulf?  You know, the other side of the Gulf of MEXICO???  Mexico.  We probably shouldn't expect to hear anything about how the Gulf oil creep is impacting the shores of Mexico, but you can't help but be curious.
