mothers day, Mexican mothers day, and Tilda's first booboo

We had our first mothers day, and then we had our first Mexican mothers day (5/10), and yesterday Tilda got her first booboo.  Mothers day was great.  The three of us went out to brunch at an Irish bar where there was live music and plenty of jovial noise.  Tilda slept through the entire meal, peeking up through a half-open eyelid once in a while to make sure we were still there.  I think that was Tilda's first mother's day present for her mom.

Tilda has lately been grabby.  I've been proud of this.  She grabs for this, she feels the texture of that, she has been touching the stained glass, and the Aztec calendar frame around the mirror in the hall.  Which is where the story turns.  She had moved away from feeling the texture of the design on the mirror to grabbing the edge of the mirror frame, which is a light aluminum frame.  But last night she pulled too hard, or as I write and think now, I probably pulled her back to release her grip, which she would not give up, and the mirror came crashing down off the wall and the edge of the mirror scraped her bare leg.  She panicked, I panicked, she cried and I really feel horrible.  There was a little redness on her thigh, no broken skin, no bleeding, just a scrape, but it really scared her.  The scrape is barely visible today and kids get scrapes all the time I suppose, but her first one really hurt me.
