the birthing room, growth, and summer distractions

Tilda will be four months this week.  A friend of ours is in the hospital giving birth to Tilda's little buddy.  So we visited and in the process sneaked around the hall to look into the room where my wife had given birth to Tilda only a few months ago.  We peeked in and it looked occupied.  A lot happened in that room. A lot has happened since as well.

Tilda is finding her voice these days, going on for what seems like sentences of her-speak.  We love it.  And she is laughing, big hearty laughs with giant smiles.  She is getting bigger, her hair is getting longer.  She's starting to grow into a face that more resembles her mothers, while her overall appearance has this resemblance to me.  She wears cloth diapers virtually all the time now, that took some time to get going.  They send you home from the hospital with a few disposables and you're overwhelmed with everything, so it was easy to just use disposables at first.  But, we finally broke through.  However, it is a matter of supplies.  We still are waitin g for several more cloth diapers to come in the mail to fill out our stash.

Us, the research continues.  I've had my first official postdoc interview and will have a couple more talks and another interview coming up here soon.  So there have been distractions from the research that are completely unrelated to Tilda.  That is just life though.  It is now summer, university summer, not season summer.  Time to write.
