research day, publications, and my liege
Research day. So far a great day at home with Tilda. She's been sleeping and I've been working. Our girl is sizing up, now a month and a half into life, she's taking on her own features and personality and we've improved at guessing what her issue may be at any given time. My wife is able to get out of the house and get some work done herself and Tilda's immunization shots are a couple of weeks away. Spring break is coming up next week and as neither of us are either teaching or taking classes, it's largely irrelevant to us both. Research semesters, I recommend a planning for a research semester if you're going to have a child in graduate school. Since Tilda's birth, I've had one paper published, though all the work was done on my part prior to her birthday. I've had another manuscript accepted, revised, and now on the verge of publication. I've submitted a post-doc proposal and have applied to various post-doc positions. Regarding the work though, the current research efforts, I have trouble going in and out of focus on this project and so I have struggled. Perhaps I shouldn't be blogging with my precious spare time? Tilda encourages the blogging though and who am I to deny her? Oh yes my liege, I'll post a blog as soon as I'm done changing your diaper.
